| I used to stand for something, but now I'm on my hands and knees. Trading my God for this one, who signs his name with a capital "G". Getting semi-excited about the presidential election this year. You know, there's not a lot of shit to report! ThinkingWithPortals has been consuming a huge amount of my time for no real explainable reason, and every time I look at the webstats for the domain I can't believe I managed to grab such an awesome domain name. Hopefully Valve won't pull out the Trademark Infringement card and shut me down! f0rkz won't stop bugging me to work on the F7Lans site, so I think I might start doing that sometime soon. We'll see, as he wants a Might Fuckload of stuff done that I'm not sure will be easy to integrate at all. Fucking Google Adsense decided to pull my account because of totally legit SEO tomfoolery. It's not my fault that their payment system is based on Page Views, and ThinkingWithPortal's SEO generates a few thousand unique "pages"! Oh well, I never saw the money so it's not like I'm missing out. I am using a new advertisement site that sucks a lot but atleast it's something! There is going to be another Stargate LARP event at the end of the month that I am going to geek the fuck out over. I may or may not post another photo, depends if there is one ridiculous enough. That's really it. There's nothing else going on. I need a break! | |

| After adding a lot of Search Engine Optimization features to the ThinkingWithPortals.com forums and wiki, I've really gotten into the swing of setting things up to be more search engine friendly. So, if you haven't noticed the new URLs around here then that's why. It's also been a great deterrant against the few spammers that have caught on to the site and been posting random bullshit, but it's stuff like that why I made the comments here only displayed after approval. Anyway, ThinkingWithPortals and msleeper.com have fallen to the SEO beast, and my other sites will soon follow suit. Be on the lookout, PageRank! Speaking of comments, I am thinking about adding a comment system to the actual content pages here for whatever reason. I've severely updated the comment code so it is pretty portable now and easily added to other pages that I'd want. Be on the lookout for that. I also added an auto-generated RSS feed to site that pulls information from the news posts, in case you seriously care enough about this site to want to read it in your favorite feed reader or your iPod or something. Personally I think stuff like that is superfluous, but to each his own I guess. I'm also going to be doing a pretty big update to all of the actual pages here. Yeah sure, Supreme Commander was really fun to mod but the actual community didn't go anywhere and it seemed almost too open ended. Plus, having to make 300,000 models to replace units or create a new race isn't exactly my idea of fun. | |

| Well it's been almost 2 months since I had a real update here, and I figure I might as well do one now since I have a brief moment away from the raging whirlwind of horse shit that is my busy, busy schedule. As I stated in the previous but brief log, the server that msleeper.com and our network sites are running on had a bit of a hiccup recently with a few services, namely email. For about 5 days, no emails were going out from the server and the various sites hosted here, but everything has been updated and should be working properly. Not only does it work, but it works better than before! The server now functions as an operational mail server, bringing us one step closer to total autonomy. I've also finished up the last bits of a huge overhaul to msleeper.com's inner workings, and how everything operates. I wrote a neat little function for BBCode parsing, mostly for ThinkingWithPortals's front page, but I've decided to include in all of my sites just because it is a neat little piece of code. This doesn't really impact anyone or anything, other than you might start seeing pointless, out of place bits of stylized text for no good reason. MyPHPsig is going to take a big leap here within the next month or so. The site has grown at an acceptable although slow pace, and I think it is about time to move it up into full status. At some point in the near future, I will be activating some long commented out code, and enabling a bandwidth restriction on MyPHPsig users. Out of 100 or so users, only about 3 or 4 actually hit this limit since you need about 15,000 hits per month to get there. Anyone who wishes to have more than the 500mb of transfer allotted a month, or anyone who wishes to have more than 25 pictures, can upgrade their accout to a Premium User and get 1gb of transfer and 50 images. Of course, MyPHPsig will remain free for everyone and upgrading is only an option. I haven't decided if I want to start throwing in randomized ads for MyPHPsig and/or put a watermark over images at random, but we'll see how the Premium User thing goes first. Lastly, I have started working on a few other small PHP programs that I will be adding to the site here within the next few weeks. Actually, expect the site to go through a major change in terms of content soon, since a lot has happened since I started recoding (read: abandoned) the old CMS tool I wrote. DNF, Portal, and new PHP projects are abound! | |

| It looks like the server is temporarily having some mail problems, and no emails are getting sent out. We're working to get this resolved as quickly as we can. In the meantime, if you are using any of the sites hosted here that send out emails (specifically ThinkingWithPortals and MyPHPsig), you'll have to wait a bit to get your various welcome letters and PM notifications. Check this spot for when we're back up and operational. EDIT, 2:48am Everything should be back to normal now. Any mails that didn't get sent out previously we've resent, but any that haven't been delivered in the past day or so are lost forever. Sorry for the problems, should be the last of their kind for a while we hope! | |
